Cruising Through the Everglades
After spending a fantastic weekend in Miami, hubby and I came across a few interesting and unexpected little places on our drive back home to Tampa. Driving past the Everglades National Park, the famous Florida wetlands and world-heritage site, we found it hard to resist the many airboat rides which were on offer in the many little towns along the way.
After stopping for breakfast in the small village of Miccosukee we decided to go on an airboat ride into the Everglades wetlands ( a place famed for its natural beauty and its alligators!). While we only spotted two gators in the park, it was enough to keep me clinging onto my hat during the very windy airboat ride and despite my initial hesitation this turned out to be a short and refreshing little detour!
