Lady in Red
Being a big believer in the saying that " if you look great, you feel great " , I also believe that fashion and travel are inextricably linked because each one has a great way of inspiring the other. For instance, when planning for a trip or a holiday I often use clothes as a way of painting a picture about the place where I'll be going, and to some extent, to tell a story about the things that I'll be doing once I'm there.
Travel and fashion certainly served as an inspiration for me during a recent trip to Portugal where the picturesque and jewel-toned Atlantic coastline of Lisbon inspired me to don a bright red jumpsuit and climb up some rocky cliffs (my husband couldn't believe the lengths I would go to for a mini fashion shoot!).
Besides being crazy, my aim was to bring to life a chic and classic seaside moment reminiscent of old glamour with a modern twist! Ultimately I hoped that this would paint a picture of the place we were visiting - the small and lush resort town of Cascais, located on the coast just outside of Lisbon, which use to be a favourite seaside retreat for old Portuguese Kings and Queens.
With the gorgeous deep blue ocean and rocky cliffs of the ' Boca do Inferno ' as our backdrop, I was blown away by the striking combination of colours and scenery which all worked well to convey the chic atmosphere of this seaside resort town. All thanks goes to my lovely husband for putting up with my crazy requests for photos on perilous seaside cliffs and for producing photos worthy of a professional!
