While my Saturdays are usually spent at home relaxing and catching up with my husband, he was away this past weekend so I decided to get dressed up (a good cure for boredom as I have found in the past) and head to one of the city's most popular coffee and lunch spots.
Now, if there ever were any awards for the most photographed (and most Instagrammed!) coffee shop in all of Tampa, I think it would hands-down go to the Oxford Exchange! As you walk into this gem of a cafe/restaurant/book (and homewares) shop located just outside the city centre, it easy to see why crowds of people gather here and seemingly never leave!
The plush, darkwood interiors are comfy (reminiscent of a grand living room in some old mansion!) and the ambience evokes an "old-world" charm. Having only briefly visited the " OE " (as the cool kids call it!) only once before for a quick cup of coffee with friends, this time I decided to try out the restaurant's standout courtyard (complete with its own fountain!). Decorated in cool whites, checkered marble floors and palm trees, this place makes you feel like you are in some chic, tropical holiday destination
Feeling all grown up (my younger self would've definitely had an anxiety attack at the thought of lunching all by herself!) and pleased that my outfit at least flowed with the decor (hey, it's the little things!) I settled down at my corner table for lunch. With great food (try the hickory-smoked salmon salad which is delicious!), good coffee and a buzzing atmosphere the Oxford Exchange is sure worth the visit if you ever have a weekend to spare in Tampa!
A big thanks to my awesome waiter, Nate, who snapped the pics of me during lunch - I think you were born with the photography gene! Thanks for kindly offering to take my pics even at the risk of major side-eye from the powers that be! :-)
Thanks also to the lovely ladies who came to say hello and compliment me on my outfit and headwrap (which I recently got from The Wrap Life). You guys were so sweet! xx
