Dream Concert : Beyoncé Formation Tour
If you ask my younger sister what annoys her most about me, I think she'll probably say it is when I'm breathlessly screeching along to Beyoncé's songs from the top of my lungs. Or, even worse, when I am hopelessly imitating one her fabulous dance moves from the Run the World (Girls) video! Another thing my sister will tell you is how much I have hoped and prayed that Beyoncé would get her act together and perform in South Africa, her 'homeland' (..South Africans love adopting famous people!).
While Beyoncé is yet to heed this call , my prayers of seeing her perform live in concert were answered a few months ago when a random scroll on Facebook revealed that she would be starting her Formation World Tour and that the second stop on her tour, after Miami, would be good ol' Tampa, despite its ageing population!
MY RUNDOWN OF THE CONCERT :
Barely able to hold my excitement I attended the concert with my husband last night (proof that I married a good man) and boy what a show! From the brilliant humour of the opening act, DJ Khaled to the unforgettable entrance made by Queen Bey , the show made like a mesmerising magician's act.
As she opened the show with her intro to ' Formation ' Bey magically appeared and disappeared in a puff of smoke as her dancers (squad goals!) added to the electric atmosphere.Bey continued to slay our lives with her flawless appearance as she performed hits from her latest album ' Lemonade ' along with old favourites such as ' Survivor' , ' Independent Women ' and ' Diva '.
One of the highlights of the show was the tribute to the original Divo, Prince . As his timeless hit ' Purple Rain ' played in the background the stage turned a bright Purple as the audience sang along and illuminated the stadium with thousands of tiny cellphone lights.
The show dramatically closed with the song ' Halo' as Bey gracefully bid us farewell and a display of fireworks was released into the sky.. concert-heaven I tell you! I leave you with a short video showing snippets of the show ( including my shabby video skills!).

Nothing beats some good weekend fun spent with good friends and a drink (or three) ! Besides laughing it up with some new friends this past weekend , we got a taste of Thailand at a Thai Temple here in Tampa which also operates as a popular weekend market.
Packed with people perusing the many aisles of gorgeous flowers and good food , the market was obviously the place to be ! I was just very happy to get my first taste of 'authentic' Asian food since leaving Singapore about seven months ago! Our Sunday evening was topped off with a gorgeous sunset which , as always , was nothing short of perfection!
I love sunsets here in Tampa, but I'm convinced that today nature was just showing off!
As I ran to catch the sunset this evening (that's how good they are) I spotted some fish in the water and by the looks of it they were attracting the attention of some very hungry birds! As I watched the expert birds swoop into action as they fed themselves, I noticed a sudden splash in the water and then realised that two dolphins were swimming nearby!
A minute later the sky turned from a soft pink to a gorgeous blazing orange, I resisted the urge to blink in case I missed the rapid change of colours. Just then, my husband came to fetch me on his moped (I had been ages!) and as we scooted home we witnessed a huge flock of birds (it seemed there were hundreds) dotting the sky as they all flew to somewhere, my husband reckons a huge storm was on its way. Either way what a way to spend the evening watching the magic of nature unfold! xx
